Welcome to McLean County 4-H!
We're thrilled to offer an enriching and exciting lineup of activities this fall at McLean County 4-H, located at Calhoun Elementary School. Our programs are designed to inspire and uplift our young members by teaching them valuable skills and fostering a sense of community.
4-H Lego Robotics Club
Starting September 25, 2024, the 4-H Lego Robotics Club is the perfect place for children aged 9 and older who have a keen interest in technology and building. This club provides a fantastic opportunity for young minds to dive into the world of robotics. Participants will get hands-on experience with LEGO Mindstorms technology, learning how to create and program their very own robots. The club aims to nurture problem-solving skills, encourage teamwork, and ignite a lifelong passion for innovation. No previous experience is required—just bring your curiosity and enthusiasm!
Meet Nolan Pettit: Your 4-H Guide
We are proud to introduce Nolan Pettit, our dedicated 4-H agent who will lead our programs. Nolan brings a wealth of experience from his lifelong involvement with 4-H and a diverse interest in everything from photography to robotics. His expertise and passion make him a fantastic resource for our members, encouraging them to explore various interests and achieve their full potential.
Join the Kindness Caterpillar Project
In addition to our educational programs, we invite all community members to contribute to our Kindness Caterpillar, an ongoing project aimed at building a symbol of unity and kindness right here in McLean County. Located in the front flower bed of our Extension office, this community-crafted display grows as participants paint rocks and add them to the caterpillar, creating a vibrant and colorful testament to our collective spirit.
